Car Alarm & Remote Start Warranty Information
1 Year Parts Warranty
Refers to all physical parts included with alarm at time of install. These items are warranted by the manufacture at no charge, no questions asked, 100% covered, guarantee provided the following is valid: The items were not abused or physically destroyed. That's it!
Part Warranties Longer Than 1 Year
The same applies as the 1 year warranty policy, plus the 2nd year is covered the same. After 2 years, the following items are not covered; LED, Valet Switch, Remotes, Siren. After the 2 years, the alarm module is prorated at 50%, not to exceed 4 years. After 4 years, the item is shipped, at your expense, for repair by the manufacture.
What does 50% prorate mean?
This means you have the option of purchasing the new module at 50% off the original price. Installation rates still apply.
Labor Warranty
Labor is covered only for the first year. It only covers problems arising from the alarm and/or installation. Charges are applied to service calls that prove to be not affiliated with said warranty. After the 1 year labor warranty, any and all labor performed to uphold parts warranty is subject to regular labor rates.
Shipping Fees
If your item is being sent for repair, you are responsible for a flat rate of $12.95 for shipping and handling. We pay the difference.
Scheduling of Warranty Issues
All services must be scheduled with the same appointment setup as was your installation.
Emergency Warranties
Viper systems qualify for emergency warranties. This means, in an emergency situation, where your vehicle is immobilized as a result of the alarm, your service request will be scheduled same day. If it proves the issue was not the alarm, you will be charged an "emergency appointment" rate. See our installation rates page. 1 year warranty systems do not qualify for the free emergency warranty.
Transmitter Issues
Transmitters are covered as described earlier. The batteries included are not covered for any period of time. They can be replaced at any radio shack store or any place that sells batteries. Extra transmitters can be purchased for your system. See our transmitter page for prices.
